Two sea turtles were released in Pingtung on April 6, 2012 . Olive ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea) turtle was discovered by staffs of Coast Guard Administration. Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) was accidentally captured by a fisherman in Yunlin County. Two turtles were recovery after the six-month and three-month treatment, respectively. During the releasing, about 40 elementary school students were invited to this special event for distributing knowledge about sea turtles and the importance of conservation.
