Date: Jul 9, 1997 Physeter macrocephalus, Female, 370cm, 517kg
Location: near Feng Chui Sha Hsing Hai Fishing Port in Hengchun
Situation: stranded and died
Cause of Death: Several round lesions were found all over its body. We speculated that the whale might have been attacked by the cookie-cutter shark. It became debilitated. Added to the fact that it left its pod as a calf, and so had difficulty hunting, it died.
