Location: Chuan Fan Shih Beach in Pingtung County
Situation: The stranded whale was died at the scene. Professor Chang Chung-chou from Pathology Office, Veterinary Department, National PingTung University of Science & Technology, performed an autopsy on the dead whale and speculated that it died of heart and lung failure. With the approval of Pingtung County Government, its skeleton was transferred to Administration Office of Kenting National Park and the skeleton samples would be collected later.
