The Science Education Department is in charge of promoting marine education, especially marine conservation, to the public. Its mission is to bring the public close to the ocean and tteach them the importance of oceans to human life. Based on this mission, one of our strategies is to train elementary school teachers in marine education. These teachers can then spread the knowledge of marine conservation biology throughout the country. In addition, we often hold different kinds of educational activities in order to simultaneously showcase the beauty of marine life and demonstrate the importance to marine protection on a global scale. The department is also responsible for a variety of publications, including posters, marine life illustrations, books on marine fauna and flora and producing multimedia discs featuring special topics in marine biology such as coral reef ecology. All these activities are aimed to educate the public about the importance of ocean to the human life and future societal development.
